The University of Alabama residential community is growing to the North of the existing Riverside Residence Halls. As part of the University connectivity program, a new 40 foot−wide breezeway was required under the existing student housing building. This breezeway provides a direct connection between the residential village and the academic area of the university. The new breezeway provides information screens, drink machines, big screen TV for games, public seating and a sense of place. This covered plaza constitutes a grand entrance to this residential community. The project also included a plaza with monumental stairs and a pergola.
